FAQs

Are all independent schools inspected by ISI?

No. About 80% of all children in independent education attend schools in membership of the Associations that make up the Independent Schools Council and these schools are inspected by ISI. This includes a full range of day and boarding schools, educating children from the ages of 0 to 18+. Non-Association schools attended by the remaining 20% of children in independent education are inspected by Ofsted, or another approved independent inspectorate.
