The Department for Education has stated that routine inspections will resume in September 2021.
This means we will be undertaking routine Regulatory Compliance Inspections (RCIs) and Education Quality Inspections (EQIs) from the start of the 2021/22 academic year.
Feedback has told us that the adjustments made during the summer term to RCI and EQI inspections were effective, and they will continue during the autumn term.
Full details can be found in our Guidance for inspectors on conducting inspections during COVID-19.
We are well prepared to ensure all association schools receive both an RCI and EQI inspection within the current extended cycle (up until the end of the 2022/23 academic year).
“Early on in the outbreak, we were very aware of the challenges faced by school leaders, staff and pupils. When we resumed brought forward inspections in the summer term, our Reporting Inspectors were trained to emphasise the need for understanding around the disruption experienced by school communities over the past year.”
