Inspections

Covid-19 update

ISI is mindful of the impact of Covid-19 on schools at present, and we are in close discussion with the Department for Education.

Schools remain open for face-to-face education and routine inspections are continuing.

If your school is notified of an inspection, the reporting inspector (RI) will discuss with you in the notification call the current context for your school.

Schools that are significantly impacted by Covid-related staff absence may request that their inspection be deferred. Any request for deferral is referred to the Department for Education and decisions are made by the Department for Education on a case-by-case basis.

The government guidance on testing for Covid-19 is that staff and pupils are no longer required to regularly test. The RI will discuss any necessary safety measures for the inspection in the notification call and consider any adaptations that need to be made.

Should you have any particular inspection-related questions, please email support@isi.net.

Due to the impact of Covid-19 on routine inspections, the current inspection cycle has been extended until summer 2023:
