Q What is the process where standards are not met?
A

The process that is followed when a school does not meet one or more of the Standards is outlined on page 24 of the inspection handbook.

Please note, this is the typical process. However, the Department for Education may decide to deviate from this process.

ISI is formally approved by the Secretary of State for Education to inspect association independent schools in England. This approval is outlined in section 87A of the Children Act 1989 and section 106 of the Education and Skills Act 2008.
