Rhiannon Williams appointed to European inspectorate group

ISI’s Senior Director for Legal and Safeguarding Rhiannon Williams has been appointed as a second national co-ordinator for England at The Standing International Conference of Inspectorates (SICI).

SICI is an association of national and regional inspectorates of education in Europe. It was founded in 1995 and there are currently 37 member inspectorates.

SICI’s aim is to support the improvement of education through improving inspection processes. This includes a focus on promoting and supporting partnership and cooperation between inspectorates, as well as actively participating in the international debate about evaluation and school improvement.

National co-ordinators support the implementation of SICI’s strategic plan, and meet annually together with the general assembly.

Speaking about the appointment Rhiannon Williams said:

“It is a real privilege to be appointed as a national co-ordinator for such an important and well respected association.

“Their focus on sharing learnings across a range of different educational contexts is extremely insightful, and helps strengthen the evidence base for high quality inspection practice across Europe.

“I look forward to representing ISI and contributing towards the extensive pool of knowledge and experience of other national co-ordinators.”

Rhiannon joined ISI in 2019 and was formerly Director of Studies at a large day and boarding prep school for children aged 3-13.

Rhiannon has worked in the education sector for over a decade, prior to which she was an environmental lawyer. This included working in regulatory compliance at the European Commission, and as a university lecturer and researcher.
